Jumping & Diving Off S***
I don’t want it to be all doom and gloom and actually there is a real purpose to this video, a recent trip to the Caribbean where there were cliff-jump opps a-plenty. It’s all about stark contrast, in real terms, not “on paper” terms which the US authorities totally control and abuse, just showing the vast discrepancy between this hardcore culture of mistrust and authoritarianism that invades my life, which I don’t choose, and these simple child-like pleasures that define the parts of life that I have a say in. And me looking like a playful little snow monkey with my arms flailing comically each time I jump haha. And I compare that, and the marathons I run before and after my chill-in-the-water days, with my extremely exagerrated tourist profile propagandized by my own nation, a nation rife with mass shooters and real criminals and (overlooked issue) real corruption everywhere, which prefers instead to have these vast resources just utterly wasted on me, as far as I can tell, in the name of preventing these horrible things but in actual practice being carried out simply to justify a sadistic brand of human “sport hunting” that the “threat prevention and deterrence” era has ushered in. Even if you don’t give a s*** about me personally and even take pleasure in knowing I’ve become this little punching bag for Americanism and safetyism in general, you should be concerned about the waste of resources and ineptitude of public safety industries as well, as this could affect you and yours just as easily. They’re literally creating and implementing private-public “watch lists” that completely bypass courts, due process, checks and balances, which create a sort of McCarthyism Superhighway on Steroids where, thanks to the Internet of Things and the ubiquitous explosion of connected devices, abuses, stalking and harassment can now be crowdsourced to the absolute lowest common denominator of society. Just as I describe at my MarathonView page at the very end of my Red Rocks post, there is a massive difference between the worlds I choose to live in and the worlds thrust upon me by the American System. Anytime I find a cliff jumping spot I can always count on being surrounded by the chillest people ever. I want people to see in real terms the difference in video, to hopefully get more clarity on why I love freedom and I hate American safety culture and the things it’s taken from my life, and all I want is to be surrounded by dudes like SPYDA instead who are the opposite of that ….. Watch this one to the end, SPYDA the legendary cliffdiver pulling off his amazing feat. SPYDA has the power of earned respect, not the coercion of position power and societal status like the losers in the other videos. He does things the rest of us wimps don’t have the balls and skill to pull off. SPYDA encourages more people to try to jump, not discourage them from trying. Getting to hang with SPYDA for a guy like me is like meeting a celebrity, I love when awesome people like that are cool enough to come kick it with all us “normals.” And the vibes at these spots are obviously predictable - Chrstmas Card s***, tourists having the best times of their entire freakin’ year, it’s the confluence of beautiful places, fun people, great music, and a genuine thrill - it’s like, what we live for.
Meanwhile, the mantra here in Portland Oregon is “BE SAFE!” where they glorify the stifling of opportunity to enjoy yourself as a virtue and cast shame on those who defy them and glorify depression as if they have no idea what its cause is (all of their BS rules and social conditioning, the fact that they have created depressing lives for their offspring is the reason their offspring are depressed at alarming rates haha). Where I have to contend with total losers employed by the Portland Bureau of Transportation or private security or AMR every day and all their pathetic loser bureaucrat b***s***. To say nothing of the horribly provincial and xenophobix citizens who collaborate with them united by the common cause of Extreme Haterizm. I’ve felt trapped under it for a long time.
You can clearly see the product of this culture in the other videos. Do you really want your kids to turn out to be like those safety people? I’m glad these videos happen to take place around water because it’s this was a metaphor used in an article I recently read and agreed with wholeheartedly —— shockingly written by a Conservative Christian! I take back what I said in my ARTICLES link about Dwight Eisenhower being the only Republican I ever agreed with haha. As the argument goes, nobody disputes that if somebody is drowning you are obligated to toss them a life preserver. But “SAFETYISM,” on the other hand, which dominates my city and state, is the radical culture which argues it’s better for society if we simply bar people from having an opportunity to enter the pool in the first place.
**Again transitioning from metaphor to real life, SPYDA the death defying cliff jumper actually was also the lifeguard and he was super awesome, frequently doing deep dives to locate items of clothing / goggles / shades often ripped from people’s bodies when they hit the water. : ) I would entrust my life to him because he’s in the Top 0.01% of competency at what he does, not because he puts on latex gloves and goes about the loser pastime of identifying, tracking, and trespassing suspected “threats” and documenting it all on an Axon Body Cam like loser ass Anthony in my other video hahahaha. In fact, pedestrian though my little 45-footers are, SPYDA was the guy giving me props and cheering for me when I pulled off the pathetic feat of finally doing a mere 360 off the cliff.
If I can bring it back to Oregon, the target of so much of my disdain, I want to give a small shout-out to Bend, Oregon. THAT was a town where the ratio of “SEND IT!” (meaning GO BIGGER THAN YOU DID YESTERDAY!) to “BE SAFE!” utterings is way higher than I’ll ever find out here in this safetyist purgatory of the Portland Metro Area. You can literally see it in my marathon times, which were faster than they are here because I felt there were more people pushing me and encouraging me to SEND IT, not BE SAFE, where it’s like “why didn’t you do a backflip, loser?” rather than “whatever you do don’t jump” and it provided a psychological boost that is clearly shown in tangible measurable terms.
All said, the Tyranny of Safety has strong bipartisan support here in Oregon and America - and I don’t see the tide changing enough to woo me back here ever. I use these tropical Spyda cliff-jump videos to motivate me, to remind myself that I don’t have to settle for this BS place or people, and I can have this kind of a culture everyday if I just - like when I started my business or started running all these marathons - decide to let ME define me, not sorry-ass Anthony or Karen, or cops or shrinks or similar gatekeepers to freedom, who just one year ago when these videos were shot left me feeling psychologically that I lived under a ceiling I could never break through, that their power over my life was impenetrable. I’m finally starting to question that and to feel motivated for this new life abroad and it feels quite good.
